New Delhi, India: NBCC India Ltd., a public sector undertaking specializing in construction, has secured a significant project worth Rs 100 crore in Hyderabad. This marks the company’s first successful bid secured through the Government e-Marketplace (GEM) portal.

Project Details:

The project involves the construction of a new training center and renovation of existing buildings at the REC Institute of Power Management Training (RECIPMT) in Shivarampally, Hyderabad. The project scope is divided into two parts:

  • New Construction (Rs 60 Crore): This will include a new training center, hostel facilities, classrooms, an auditorium, a kitchen and dining area, and landscaping for the entire campus.
  • Renovation (Rs 40 Crore): This will involve demolishing unsafe existing structures, constructing a new elevated service reservoir with a modern design and increased capacity, and renovating existing office buildings, classrooms, hostels, and other allied buildings on the RECIPMT campus.

GEM Significance:

NBCC’s successful bid through the GEM portal signifies the increasing adoption of this e-marketplace platform for government tenders. GEM aims to bring transparency and efficiency to public procurement processes, offering a level playing field for companies like NBCC.
