The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved a new 11.56 km metro link connecting Noida’s Sector 142 to Delhi’s Botanical Garden station, enhancing public transport connectivity in the region.
Good news for commuters in Noida! The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for a new 11.56 km metro link. This extension will connect the existing Botanical Garden metro station in Delhi to Noida’s Sector 142, situated near the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway.
This development addresses a major connectivity gap in Noida’s public transport system. Currently, Noida and Greater Noida lack direct metro access to Delhi’s network. While the Aqua Line exists within Noida, it’s a separate system, and the Blue Line connection terminates at Noida Sector 62’s Electronic City station, offering an inconvenient interchange.
The new corridor promises seamless travel for commuters. It will provide direct connectivity to Indira Gandhi International Airport via the Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line and offer easy access to major railway stations through the Blue Line. This strategic project is expected to significantly improve public transportation options for residents of Noida and surrounding areas, attracting around 80,000 daily riders initially. However, the project awaits final approval from the Central government before construction can begin.
