Unease is brewing amongst residents of Sushant Lok 2 and 3 in Gurugram as the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) prepares to conduct a comprehensive survey of houses in the area. This move comes in response to concerns raised by the Residents’ Welfare Association (RWA) regarding widespread violations of building regulations.
The RWA has flagged several issues, including unauthorized construction exceeding sanctioned plans. Specifically, residents have reported instances of additional floors being built, bathrooms being extended beyond permissible limits, and even encroachments on designated parking spaces. These violations not only compromise the architectural integrity of the neighborhood but also pose potential safety hazards.
The DTCP survey aims to identify properties that have flouted building norms. Notably, the department has emphasized that strict action will be taken against any houses found to be non-compliant – even if they have already secured occupancy certificates. This stern warning serves as a deterrent for residents who may have overlooked regulations while constructing their homes.
