Bengaluru’s metro network is set to expand as the Green Line prepares for its extension by October’s end. The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has confirmed that trial runs on the additional 3-kilometer stretch connecting Nagasandra and Madavara are imminent.

With the introduction of three new stations – Manjunathnagar, Chikkabidarakallu, and Madavara – commuters in these areas will benefit from improved connectivity to the city’s metro system. The BMRCL anticipates a significant increase in ridership, with an estimated 25,000 to 30,000 additional passengers utilizing the extended line daily.

This expansion is a pivotal development in Bengaluru’s ongoing efforts to enhance public transportation infrastructure. By providing more efficient and accessible travel options, the BMRCL aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve the overall quality of life for city residents. As the October deadline approaches, anticipation grows for the launch of the Green Line extension, which promises to be a game-changer for Bengaluru’s transportation landscape.
