The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has taken significant strides towards addressing the city’s housing challenges. In a high-level meeting chaired by Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena, the authority approved several key initiatives.

A cornerstone of the DDA’s plans is the introduction of the ‘Sasta Ghar’ housing scheme. This ambitious project is designed to provide affordable housing options for the city’s economically weaker sections (EWS) and low-income groups (LIG). By making homeownership more accessible to these segments, the DDA aims to contribute to inclusive development and improve the overall quality of life for Delhi residents.

In addition to the ‘Sasta Ghar’ scheme, the DDA has given the green light to the Dwarka Housing Scheme 2024. This new offering will provide a range of housing options to cater to different income levels and preferences. The details of the scheme, including the number of units, pricing, and eligibility criteria, are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, the DDA has approved an amnesty scheme for leasehold property owners. This initiative aims to simplify the process of converting leasehold properties into freehold, thereby providing property owners with greater security and ownership rights. The amnesty scheme is anticipated to generate substantial revenue for the DDA, which can be reinvested in infrastructure development and other public welfare projects.

These comprehensive measures demonstrate the DDA’s commitment to addressing the housing needs of Delhi’s diverse population while also generating revenue for the city.
