Delhi government plans to upgrade a 4.5 km stretch of Ring Road from Ashram to Bhairon Marg T-point to improve road conditions and reduce traffic congestion, potentially causing temporary traffic snarls during construction.

Delhiites commuting on the Ring Road can expect a smoother ride in the future. The Delhi government, through the Public Works Department (PWD), has approved a project to upgrade and strengthen a 4.5-kilometer stretch from Ashram to the Bhairon Marg T-point.

This move comes after a 2023 audit by the Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) identified cracks and other signs of wear and tear on the road. The project aims to improve the overall condition of this vital traffic artery, leading to a reduction in traffic congestion and accidents.

While an official timeline hasn’t been announced, tenders for the project will be finalized soon. However, commuters should brace for potential traffic snarls during the construction phase, as this stretch witnesses heavy traffic flow daily. Small sections of the road under the purview of other agencies like NCRTC will be handled by them separately.
