Gurugram: The Gurugram district administration has issued a stay on the demolition of NBCC Green View Society in Sector 37D. This decision comes after a protracted standoff between the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), residents, and local authorities.

The NBCC had sought permission to raze the seven-tower complex following structural assessments that deemed it unsafe. However, the administration’s decision to deny this request underscores the complexities surrounding the project. A significant factor in this decision is the ongoing legal battle with residents, particularly those from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category.

EWS residents have vehemently opposed the demolition, citing inadequate compensation plans and potential displacement. Their concerns have been amplified through legal channels, with a case pending before the Delhi High Court. The administration’s stance appears to be influenced by these ongoing legal proceedings and the need to protect the rights of vulnerable residents.

The future of NBCC Green View remains uncertain as the situation unfolds. A resolution that addresses the concerns of all stakeholders, including the NBCC, residents, and the administration, is crucial to finding a sustainable solution to this complex issue.
