Haryana Chief Minister distributed property certificates to 5,000 residents in Manesar under a scheme granting ownership rights to those who have rented government properties for over 20 years.

Manesar, Haryana – July 11, 2024: In a move to address long-standing ownership concerns, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini distributed property certificates to 5,000 residents of Manesar on Thursday. This initiative falls under the state government’s “Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana” scheme.

Resolving Property Issues:

The program targets individuals who have resided on government-rented properties for over 20 years but lack official ownership rights. Under the scheme, these residents are granted ownership at collector rates. Previously, the absence of proper documentation made selling or leveraging these properties for loans difficult.

Addressing Public Fears:

Chief Minister Saini highlighted the challenges faced by residents due to the lack of ownership. “People had property but no ownership rights,” he said. “This led to numerous disputes and a constant fear of losing their property.” The CM further emphasized that this initiative fulfills a promise made in the BJP’s 2019 election manifesto.

Spreading the Benefits:

The “Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitva Yojana” isn’t limited to Manesar. CM Saini revealed that nearly two lakh citizens across the state have benefitted from the scheme for properties located within Lal Dora areas (revenue village boundaries).
