A dark cloud of suspicion hangs over the luxurious villas nestled within Hyderabad’s prestigious Chitrapuri Colony, a haven for Telugu film personalities. Civic authorities have initiated an investigation into potential violations of building bylaws, raising concerns about the legality and safety of these opulent residences.
The crux of the issue lies in alleged unauthorized constructions. The society reportedly received permission to build single-story villas with an additional floor (ground-plus-one, G+1). However, inspections by Manikonda municipality officials revealed several villas exceeding these height limitations, boasting two or even three additional floors (G+2 and G+3). Further complicating matters is the apparent discrepancy in the number of villas constructed. The approved plans seem to have been disregarded, with the actual number of villas exceeding the sanctioned limit.
These discrepancies have prompted the municipality to issue stern notices to the society and individual villa owners. The notices serve as a warning, urging them to cease any further unauthorized construction activity. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to building regulations. Unchecked violations can not only compromise the structural integrity of buildings but also pose safety risks to residents. This investigation underscores the need for stricter enforcement of building codes in Hyderabad to ensure the responsible and compliant development of residential areas, especially those catering to the city’s elite.
