New Delhi: A large-scale demolition operation is imminent in Bhalswa Dairy colony, northwest Delhi, with the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) set to commence the drive on August 12. The civic body has issued a final warning to residents and business owners occupying unauthorized structures within the area.
Over 800 properties, encompassing both residential and commercial establishments, are slated for demolition. The operation also targets the relocation of approximately 400 dairies, currently housing a substantial number of animals, to the Ghogha dairy facility on the city’s periphery.
The MCD has cited grave violations of land use regulations and rampant illegal encroachments as the primary reasons for the impending action. To ensure the demolition process unfolds without disruption and maintains public order, the corporation has requested a substantial police presence. Residents have been given a strict three-day notice to vacate the premises.
The demolition drive is anticipated to be a complex and extensive operation, with far-reaching consequences for the residents and businesses operating within the Bhalswa Dairy colony. The MCD’s decision underscores its determination to address the issue of unauthorized constructions and restore order in the area.
