The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has taken a significant step towards realizing its vision of a new urban center in Agra. The authority has appointed a consultant to craft a comprehensive master plan for the proposed city, which will be spread across a vast 10,500 hectares along the Yamuna Expressway.
This ambitious project, estimated to cost a staggering Rs 40,000 crore, aims to create a harmonious blend of tourism, manufacturing, and residential zones. The chosen consultant, Tractable Engineering, has been tasked with developing a blueprint that encapsulates the essence of modern urban living while preserving the region’s cultural heritage. The nine-month timeline for the master plan indicates the urgency and scale of this development.
Once finalized, the plan will serve as a roadmap for transforming this greenfield site into a thriving metropolis. It will encompass everything from infrastructure development and connectivity to environmental sustainability and social amenities. This new city is expected to be a catalyst for economic growth in the region, generating employment opportunities and attracting investments.
With this strategic move, YEIDA is poised to redefine the skyline of Agra and its surrounding areas, creating a new chapter in the region’s development story.
